Migraine and Cardiologist

After the psychiatrist appointment, mum underwent brain CT scan and blood test (include hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism) as ordered by neurologist. Both results didn't show anything abnormal.

The neurologist said that this means there was nothing serious with the brain. MRI would be more accurate but it would be picking up less serious issues and so it wasn't worth doing it because mum had titanium cage implanted on her lower back decades ago.

After much discussion and Q&A, the neurologist
  • prescribed flunarizine to combat (and prevent) migraine. Migraine can cause dizziness too; and
  • wrote a referral letter for us to get an appointment with cardiologist to check for heartbeat irregularity.
Turns out that the neurologist also ordered echocardiogram. To our shock, the appointments given by the cardiology department are:
  • 13 May 20 for echo
  • 17 Aug 20 for holter

Meanwhile, psychiatrist maintained their medication i.e. asenapine 5mg day, sertraline 100mg night, but advised my mum to exercise daily, even it was just a 5-min walk.
