Another downhill
After taking Oxynorm twice daily, dad's breathlessness is gone. However, during the period before the next appointment, more symptoms (re)appeared:
- Huge lump going to the back. It's now painful even without touching it. Previously was painful only if touched.
- Leg pain. Leg pain when first start walking but subside a little if keep on walking.
- Knee pain.
- Back pain.
- Eyeball pain. Much better now after eyedrop from Penaga KK.
- Vomit quite regularly.
- Numbness until pain.
- Blood in urine. Twice past 2 months.
- Oxynorm breakthrough 3 times a day on top of the 2 times daily intake for breathlessness.
- Norgesic 2-3 times a day. Seldom take paracetamol.
- Worried about lump (afraid might be the cause of bad bowel movement)
- Pain: Fentanyl 75mcg (increased from 50), Oxynorm 10gm 3x daily (from 2x). Take breakthrough when needed
- Constipation: she felt his passing motion was not good enough i.e. too little and so Oxynorm took 30-40mins to work. It was supposed to work fast and even faster than morphin. Senokot 2 tablets 2x daily. To flush out, take 4-6 tablets once (if still have problem)
- Water retention: it is actually caused by everything (bad flow all over the body). Massage leg upwards. If possible, elevate leg higher than body
- Blood in urine: it's a sign of inside all tumbling down. If it is getting more often, then need to be admitted
- Worried about lump, after PCU specialist pointed it out. Might effect colon
- Signs to looks out: pain, constipation, puss. If have such signs, come immediately to be warded
- The high potassium from the blood test results was worrisome. Gave medication for 3 days lower its level. After that need to be careful of eating high potassium food (no more banana, nuts etc). Signs to look out for in high potassium: fast heart palpitations, numbness of hands
