The redemption for earbuds turned into a complicated affair.

As expected, it took more than a week (might have been around 2 weeks) for them to arrive. Accordingly, Ban charged them before using. It didn't work: no connection to his phone or my phone or his laptop. Also, I noticed that the charging pod's lights didn't work either.

Ban look at the small insert and sent a message to the given WhatsApp number. To his horror, someone responded saying that that was the number for Singapore Civil Defence Force! Well, joke or not, this doesn't reflect well on the company, Vinnfier.

We looked up their website and through that, Ban filled up a form to request support. FYI the earbuds have 1-year warranty. Shortly later, he received an email from them asking him to send the earbuds back to them. That cost RM 7+ via Pos Laju.

We were pleasantly surprised that the replacement arrived in a day (or two). Problem was that the same issue occurred omg. So Ban communicated that to them via the existing email thread. Once again, he was asked to return the product. Ban was thinking that at this rather, maybe it was more worth it to just get another pair. He immediately perished the thought after learning how much more a pair cost :D 

So after spending yet another RM 7+ to courier the earbuds to Vinnfier, Ban took up my suggestion of asking them to check the next one to make sure they worked.

About a week later, we still hadn't heard from them. I jokingly said that they checked and each pair in stock were defective and they were in the midst of raging on their manufacturer :D I suggested that he reached out to them via email. The response was that the warranty team was looking into it. Well, maybe my joke was real after all lol.

The next day, the 3rd pair arrived and Ban noticed that the box was already unwrapped i.e. lacking the thin plastic wrapping. That probably meant that they had tested the pair. True enough: they (finally) worked. Wow.

A year of own blog

My first entry in this blog was on 3 Oct 2008 but I actually started blogging in late May 2008 in a shared blog called Queer Qloset. That shared blog is pretty much dead now. Gradually over the months it seems that only a few of us are actively blogging in it. Reason why I started on a shared blog was that I wasn't confident enough to blog and that I was also concerned that it may be just a passing phase. However, later I discovered that I do enjoy blogging. I like just blogging whatever I feel is interestng or merely jotting down my thoughts on certain issues. Not counting those I tested out for a few hours only, the current template is my third template. Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 1)

Here are the character builds for my current run (with the help of Ban): Kyrie Fellblade/Marked Counter: Slow Secondary passives: Execute, Life Font Fellblade itself is a good class because of the various conditions it can inflict and most importantly they can inflict Sleep. Iirc, the only other human class that can do this is Gadgeteer. Their passive Malice increases the chance of landing it by 10%. Fellblade pairs well with Marked because both use ATK and MND in their offensive abilities. Also, Fellblade's abilities are mostly short range whereas Marked has some long range abilities. Execute for more damage. Life Font is for suvivability. Ban opined that with two healers, there's no need for Life Font but I discover that it enables Kyrie to survive just enough for a healer to heal her up, after having received massive damage.
