Assorted food #17
This is one of my favourite dishes to cook: stir fried pork with ginger & spring onion. Ban was the one who found the recipe sometime ago when he wanted to try cooking non-chicken dishes and I started cooking it when he moved on to other dishes. I forgot why he stopped. Probably because he preferred others that are simpler?
Flavourful and aromatic but yes, it has quite a number of steps. Using pork tenderloin suits us because it's lean and tender.
I used the extra spring onion to cook the oyster king mushroom, which was just lightly salted and sprinkled with soy sauce. It complemented the pork dish.
This was from the chap fan stall at Megah Good Luck Restaurant, a kopitiam at Taman Megah. It cost only RM 2! I only wanted a third of it but instead, the lady said, "I would give you a little more and charge you RM 2." I suspect they were trying to clear as much food as possible was it was late lunch time (around 1.30pm?). Think the stall did that to the customer before me.
Look what I found among the container of bananas: an egg.
Ok, the story went like this: I went to a fruit shop to buy fruits and get them to cut them for me. The container was for the cut fruits. However, there were no suitable fruits then and so I bought bananas. At the same time, I gave them feedback about an egg that I bought from them previously (it was already cracked) and so they replaced it with an egg. I think we were going elsewhere first before heading home and so I packed some of the bananas in the container and wrapped the egg in a plastic bag and nestled it among the bananas to minimise chance of cracking.
