Minion Masters: Solo Master 5

I reached solo rank Master 5 for the first time. These are the last 3 wins:







I was trying to get into top 128 to qualify for the Discord's Snowgiving tournament but I simply ran out of time because of real life activities. Towards the end, I focused on using 5 different decks.

The deck used for the above matches is significantly different than the Stormbringer 'Guild' deck I used previously. I had to modify it a lot to counter the plethora of Ravager decks, of which the most annoying one had double Rammer, double Dragon Ball and Shars'Rakk Twins. I wrote a little about this in the video here.

The deck build is as follows:
(1) Illusory Cleaver: cheap to capture bridge and can kill minion(s) with less than 30hp
(2) Scrat Pack: cheap to capture both bridges
(3) Dragon Whelp: solid flying melee minion
(4) Plasma Marines
(5) Xiao Long: deters spell
(6) Lightning Bolt: great for killing big minions but have to time it carefully. My main aim was to kill Brutus or either of the twins
(7) Wheel of Doom: great for killing medium minions. My main aim was the kill the twins
(8) & (9) Divine Warrior: great as a tank with that 8 secs of immunity. Great to distract Brutus and/or twins while other minions kill them. Two of her to increase chance of getting her when she's needed and also in case opponent uses Black Hole on the first one (so that most of the immunity is wasted)
(10) Crossbow Guild: key feature of this deck. Great at hitting Ravager's face because his basic attack has very short range

Let's try to use the checklist provided by Edelweiss to look at this deck:
  1. Average mana cost of around 3.5: yes
  2. 8 minions + 2 spells: yes
  3. Counter to (a) Flying, (b) Swarm, (c) Big units:
    • (a) Dragon Whelp, Plasma Marines, Xiao Long, Crossbow Dudes (from the guild)
    • (b) Divine Warrior (as distraction) + other minions, Wheel of Doom on walkers (but I usually reserved this for medium minions) 
    • (c) Lightning bolt (if timed well), Divine Warrior + other minions
  4. Specialised cards: Lightning bolt, Divine Warrior
  5. Win condition: constant stream of Crossbow Dudes supported by other minions to hit face. Perk 3 helps a lot.

Here are the character builds for my current run (with the help of Ban): Kyrie Fellblade/Marked Counter: Slow Secondary passives: Execute, Life Font Fellblade itself is a good class because of the various conditions it can inflict and most importantly they can inflict Sleep. Iirc, the only other human class that can do this is Gadgeteer. Their passive Malice increases the chance of landing it by 10%. Fellblade pairs well with Marked because both use ATK and MND in their offensive abilities. Also, Fellblade's abilities are mostly short range whereas Marked has some long range abilities. Execute for more damage. Life Font is for suvivability. Ban opined that with two healers, there's no need for Life Font but I discover that it enables Kyrie to survive just enough for a healer to heal her up, after having received massive damage. (continue from Part 1 ) Yates Anatomist/Wizard Counter: Cripple Secondary passives: Blessed One, Smart Casting Anatomist is the best healer in game due to the passive Legendary Healer, which also then boost the amount of self-healing by Blessed One. Although Ban thinks Anatomist's Dark spells are sufficient in dealing damage and so he suggests Alchemyst as Yate's secondary class, I choose Wizard for the following reasons: Quite often, demonic creatures have Dark immunity and other creatures have immunity to other elements. So having Dark, Water, Fire, Earth and Thunder spells enable Yates to cast the most suitable spell, especially when the enemies are vulnerable to certain elements. Flexible casting :) Smart Casting is useful so that I don't need to worry much about the positioning of the enemies relative to my other characters when using Mass Healing and the area effect damage spells. Strange expectorant

An expectorant cough syrup helps you to prevent phlegem from going to your lungs by expelling it via coughing or so I heard from doctors and pharmacists. That's why for cough that's caused by phlegm, it is not advisable to take suppressant cough syrup. Given that's the role, do you expect it to be drowsy? It should be non-drowsy so that you will be actively coughing out the phlegm, right? Not this Unizet expectorant. The doctor told me that it shouldn't be drowsy and yet some of his patients (including me) reported otherwise. I read the detailed information (on the piece of paper typically stuffed inside the box) and nowhere it indicated drowsiness as a side effect. Strange, huh?
