Fifth session for thumb/wrist

The next appointment was scheduled 11 days after the last but I was unwell and so I postponed it by another 3 days. When enquired by therapist via WhatsApp, I provided the following feedback:

  1. Moving my hand, when closed up in a fist, upward still cause a little pulling pain i.e. no change.
  2. There was still sharp pain when I pushed the back of my palm towards me i.e. no change.
  3. The sourish pain at the back of my hand, between my thumb and the wrist, was less noticeable i.e. improved.

Consequently, she recommended that I stopped the strengthening exercises with the dumbell but continue with the ones with rubber band, in addition to the stretching exercises.

On the appointment day, coincidentally I felt sourish pain close to (3) above when trying to open a particularly difficult water bottle container.

Once again, after getting my feedback, the therapist massages my right arm and applied ultrasound therapy on the affected area. Thereafter the pain in (1) was gone and later I noticed that the two stretching exercises helped to get rid of the pain for a short while. However, there was no difference to (2) and (3).

I'm to continue the same stretching and strengthening exercises and my next appointment, in slightly more than a month's time due to my upcoming trip to Australia, will be with her colleague as December is her last month at the centre.
