Fourth session for thumb/wrist
Next appointment is a little more than two weeks after the last session. I provided the following feedback to the therapist:
- The pain came after hours of continuous driving.
- The sourish pain at the back of my hand, between my thumb and the wrist, was more noticeable. It happens when I grip. Previously, I only knew of this spot when the therapist massaged that area. For all I know, it was there all this time but maybe I thought the pain I experienced was from the wrist.
- The pain in the wrist was more prominent when I pushed the back of my palm towards me.
- Regarding the exercises using the rubber band, I could hold it at the max 8s for about 7 or 8 repetitions but thereafter had to lower it.
After some massages, she asked me to test the pain and once again, miraculously the pain level had decreased and stayed that way for hours later (up to when I wrote this post).
She recommended the following:
- Regarding the rubber band exercises, start at 5s. Once I can do it for all 10 repetitions, then increase it by another count, so on and so forth.
- Added another exercise with the dumbell: elbow at 90 degree, hold the dumbell facing upward. Bend the hand towards me, hold for 10s and then relax. Repeat 9 more times to make a set. Two sets a day.
The exercises are still restricted to twice a day.
