Cholesterol 2023: Part 3
Here are the results compared to 4 months ago:
May 2023 Ref Sep 2023 Ref
Total cholesterol 5.9 < 5.2 5.1 <5.2
HDL ("good") 1.59 > 1.04 2.1 >1.04
LDL ("bad") 3.9 < 2.6 2.7 < 2.6
Triglycerides 0.9 < 1.7 0.7 <1.7
Total/HDL ratio 3.6 < 5.0 2.4 < 5.0
Non-HDL 3.9 < 3.4 3.0 <3.4
Phew! It's under control. The LDL is a tiny bit elevated but, as I learned from a Singapore GP, this borderline result is ok if total cholesterol and Total/HDL ratio are ok. In fact, my HDL went up significantly.
This a result of taking fenofibrate on alternate day and continuing the exercise regime of 20 mins in the morning and 30-35 mins in the afternoon. Judging from the result, this is as good as it gets in terms of reducing dependency on medicine.
