Crusader Kings 2: Last crusade?

Image
The game was going to end and so this crusade was likely going to be the last one. Got my armies there decently on time but off to a rocky start: Finally won a major battle after a losing streak: Finally won after quite a hard fought crusade! The last time I won the crusade, it just happened that the beneficiary was the father of one of my kings. When the new king died, his son took over and thus the Kingdom of Perm became part of Empire of Alba. I wanted to replicate that. I researched and managed to narrow down to 3 candidates. My choice was the father of King of Denmark & Yemen. Since the game is going to end very soon, I was briefly tempted to plot to kill the new king so that King of Denmark becomes the new king, thus bring the kingdom into my realm. That's too gamey and cruel and so I decided not to.

MCO food: Salmon don with tamago

Image
I've mentioned in previous 'MCO food' blog posts that one of our favourite home cooked food is salmon don with tamago. I still prepare this once a week but without tamago because the salmon now provides more than enough protein: about 160gm for each of us. I came across this photo of probably the second or third time I made this dish for Ban: It looks pretty to me. At what price do you think restaurant would have charged for this?

Paladins: Dredge

Image
One day I heard a Paladins streamer said that Dredge is a low-skill ceiling champion who can perform well at lower rank but not at higher rank because good players counter him easily. Well, sounds like a character that I should try haha. So after trying out all the talents, I settled on Abyss Spike. Scuttle makes me forget to use Harpoon. As for Hurl, I'm bad at aiming and so giving me a non-CD Harpoon is a bad idea 😂 Besides, I like the trap feature of Abyss Spike. The loadout I use emphasises on survivability: Dreadnought - 5 Hangman's Ire - 4 Dark Bargain - 4 Plank Walker - 1 Hull Piercer - 1 For details on Dredge's abilities and cards, please refer to this wiki page . Here are some gameplays:

Keeping secrets

Nevertheless, there are times when a client will ask his counselor to keep a bit of information secret and the counselor can usually agree to do so. Invariably, though, the information will be circulating on the grapevine within hours or days, and the client himself has spread it, usually telling "only" three or four people. - "Adults on the Autism Spectrum: Leave the Nest, Achieving Supported Independence" by Nancy Perr

Crusader Kings 2: War x10, Poland, Pre-Crusade

Image
My previous ruler finally got murdered in the Secret Grove lol. I forgot that he was stressed and so his personal combat level was about the same as the targeted infidel. I had wanted him to die if Poland goes under regency (I have a couple of vassals with weak claim on the kingdom) and so this was unexpected. I want Poland so badly because its colour is similar to my realm. Grrrr :P Seems like 10 is the most I can wage war safely on. Hopefully this will be over soon so that I can get the ruler killed again and enable the new ruler to wage war on Poland. Deploying army at ten fronts. I've been wanting Poland because (drum roll pls).......of colour hahaha. Damn game colours Poland similar to Empire of Alba's. A while ago, I checked and confirmed my half-baked suspicion that I controlled sufficient number of counties to usurp Kingdom of Poland. Just needed to wait for the Polish King to finish his war, which he lost to my Hungarian King. This time, I remembered to vassalise as ma...

Jin Xuan Hong Kong

Image
One of our choices for Tuesday dinner is Domino's Pizza because of their Tuesday special deals online. We collect them at Damansara Jaya. In one of our trips, I noticed the dim sum restaurant Jin Xuan Hong Kong. I tried and loved their shrimp rice roll, which is a must-have dim sum for me.  Ban doesn't like dim sum in general but he was willing to have it once a while because of me :) and so we did just that when dine-in was allowed. It was also an opportunity for him to have his favourite Chinese tea i.e. Jasmine tea. Since then, we usually order exclusively shrimp rice rolls haha. During this latest dine-in ban, we would order 5 plates of it: 3 for him. Yes, it's delicious: smooth, good amount of prawn, and absolutely tasty fragrant sauce.

Bad disconnection

" It seems so basic that a person with normal or almost normal intelliegence would know that most people say what they intend to do and do as they say as a matter of course. And that repeatedltly not doing what you promise will cause ruptured relationships, anger, and loss of respect. The problem is: the person with executive deficits doesn't link behaviour with discussions of behaviour. Recall that the person with disabilities can generally do only one cognitive thing at a time. When the one thing he is doing is talking, then the action under discussion is not being engaged. When the time comes to do the action, then the talking (and thinking) will not be taking place. There is a disconneciton between talking now and doing later. So when clients talk in class about the best thing to do in a given situation, they sound smart and correct. But when it becomes time to do that very thing, they often behave as if they were on autopilot toward the most selfish or foolish possible ...

Crusader Kings 2: Poland again, Pagan, Hungary

Image
So, once again, I noticed the Polish King's heir was a child and I had a couple of kinswomen who had weak claim on the kingdom. Plotted to kill and succeeded but I was shocked I couldn't declare war for them! Turned out the succession law there was Agnatic Elective and so no woman could hold title there. Grrrr. Nevertheless, I didn't want to waste an opportunity to grab some Polish land and so declared war on a duchy. Later, I 'joined' a vassal's war on the Empress of Mali, since I noticed he was about to be beaten to a pulp. In the midst of these wars, suddenly a number of my kings had embraced African Paganism! Grrrr. Revocation ensued, on both sides! Meanwhile, my attempt at inviting cultists to my gardern for a private conversation and murdering them generated lots of failure. When I had spare holdings, I tried looking to land claimants of realms that I was interested in, before transferring thems to their respective de jure liege. I gave a county I won in a...

Fan and ladle

One day, I requested to clean the ceiling fan. So while I got ready pail of water and cloth, I asked Ban to switch off the fan Me: *Hearing clicking noises* Honey, are you play with switches? (fyi, I know he was just figuring out the correct switch haha) Daniel: I'm trying to find the right switch. Me: *Laughs* Ok, please get the ladle. Daniel: What?? Me: *Laughs* I meant the ladder. You can get the ladle too, if you want, but I don't know what you're going to do with it

Keyboard, Bluetooth, Microphone

That's the order in which they went bonkers for my laptop. Keyboard: D key and then later the right Shift key. Bought an external USB keyboard, the smallest I could find at the shop. Spoilt: some keys too hard to press @@. Bought a better one but bigger, and for gaming too it seems. Comfortable.   Bluetooth:  Went kaput in the middle of using it (for my wireless earphones). Tested multiple times to make sure it wasn't just a driver issue. Bought an external USB bluetooth  adapter. Worked quite well except that it couldn't seem to handle multiple photos and/or videos transfer from my phone.   Microphone: Realised that it went kaput when app started using my earphones mic, which was meant for phone calls, not for PC applications i.e. quality is quite bad for the latter. Tested multiple times to ascertain this. Tried to live with using the earphone's mic for a session of online tabletop rpg session and concluced it wasn't good enough. Since my laptop's 3 USB ports ...
