Dungeon Siege III: Reinhart

Image
After playing Katarina and Anjali, I find that playing Reinhart seems to be easier. I thought that it had to do with the character itself but now I suspect that it is probably also due to greater familiarity with the game. I followed this guide in building Reinhart with one difference: the choice of proficiency for Lightning Strike. My build is as follows: Abilities: proficiencies 1. Lightning Strike: Thunderclap 5 This ability was used only on single tough enemy i.e. mainly bosses and mini bosses. It has noticeable animation time and so might leave Reinhart vulnerable to fast moving enemies. Hence the stun was useful, especially in fights where killing bosses instantly made all other enemies disappeared. This is more useful than Power Surge's 50% chance of the attack bouncing to one other target. 2. Circle of Healing: Vector Dampening 5 Given that Lighning Strike and Geometry of Annihilation have significant casting time, Reinhart needs some additional defensive mechanism. This p

Vivo Pizza @Paradigm Mall

Decided to try this place after I read good reviews on Google. Luckily for us, there was a promotion that day during lunch: each main dish came with free ice lemon tea and mushroom soup. I had pizza while Ban had baked fish pasta. They were good but...  ...at these prices, we were not sure whether it was worth it or not. The free drinks and soup definitely tipped the scale. We went there a second time because they gave me 50% discount on pizza after I gave them feedback (electronically) during our first visit. That was worth it. h

Dungeon Siege III: Anjali

I realise that a good way to determine how to build up characters in this game is to look for proficiencies and talents that help to generate even more focus and power, the two resources you use in combat. Normally you gain focus by using basic attack and power by using abilities. You need focus to use abilities and power to use defensive abilities and empowered version of abilities. So, the faster you generate these resources, the more often you can use these goodies. The final build I used for Anjali was based on what I gleaned mainly from 3 suggested builds. Here it is: Abilities: proficiencies 1. Spinning Kick: Crushing Impact 5 I tried following a detailed guide that favoured damage but changed my mind and I'm glad I did: those stuns were so helpful againts those swarm of hard-hitting mooks. 2. Inner Warmth: Rejuvenating Spark 5 This build benefits a lot from healing as Anjali will melee very often. 3. Hurl Spear: Incendiary Javelin 5 Used this range ability mainly against bos

Dungeon Siege III: Katarina

Katarina is the first character I finishd the game with. I only thought of recordiong when I was fighting the last boss but I messed up and so I have nothing 😔 I chose to play her because it seems many players said she's easy to play and I concur. I based my build on this guide with one notable exception: I didn't use Blackhound Familiar. It takes too long to summon and it doesn't long enough for my liking. So, here's the built I use: Abilities: proficiencies 1. Heartseeking Shot: Rapid Fire 5 Main aggressive ability. Rapid Fire proficiency will gain you lots of focus and so it's a priority to get. Use empowered version when you can. 2. Caress of Suffering: mixture of Schadenfreude and Excruciate Not a priority but I got them for those situations where there's swarm of small minions. Rifle stance is just too slow to counter them. 3. Charm of Eternal Life: Soul Thief 5 Put 1 point first as soon as possible and then slowly fill it up when there are no priority p

Curtains

Ban: Dear opens. Honey closes. *Draw the close the curtains* Me: Nooooo why you do this to me? (He never opens curtains. I'm the one who always does it in the mornig) Ban: *laughs* Me: Oh, you're taking a nap. Ban: Yup.

Citibank: Visa -> Mastercard

Recently, Citibank offered fee waiver if I migrate from Visa to Mastercard. The offer is not valuable to me as I always got fee waiver each year I asked for it. What attracted me though was, based on searches on the internet, Mastercard has better foreign exchange rates. Since I frequently used my Citibank Singapore credit card here in Malaysia, this is good for me. Among the terms and conditions, this is especially important to me: " You acknowledge that your Citi Visa Card will terminate upon the activation of your Citi Mastercard or upon 90 days from the date we receive this consent or upon the expiry of your Citi Visa  Card, whichever is earliest. " This matters because I have some bills that are charged to the credit card, and of course this also means I can continue using the Visa card until the Mastercard arrives and activated. About 9 days after I consented to the above migration, I received an email from Citibank stating that, among other things, that my card had alr

Illegal rounding

  Rounding in monetary transaction is governed by Bank Negara and for certain, rounding up by 5 cents is illegal. Unfortunately, I noticed this only when I was back home. Will watch out for it if I dine there again.

Dungeon Siege III

The first time I played this game was years ago with Ban. Fyi in single player mode, you'll quickly get an AI companion (eventually, you get 3 to choose from), while in duo mode, there are only just two players. At that time, we were having some difficulties with the controls and the camera rotation. What finally broke us was the fight vs a side quest's boss (Palefang). We just couldn't kill that stupidly strong giant white spider. So we gave up, after about 7 hours of gameplay. Recently, I picked this up again. This time, the game informed me that there is now space to bind keys for strafing left and right. So I rebound a number of keys to be as close as possible with those commonly used in most games these days. This helps a lot! Secondly, it turns out that Palefang is OP to many players and so the advice is to level up to beyond 8 before facing it. Fyi you can meet it as early as level 5! I finished one playthrough using Katarina, with Anjali AI and later on switcehd to

More on Shin Zushi @SS2

  This is fast becoming my favourite place to have my weekly sushi meal since the prices of our usual haunts have gone up unfavourably. In fact, Sushi Tei has closed down all outlets in Malaysia except for 3. Our usual haunt has closed down. The downside to this outlet is the long queue due to limited space inside. The best time is to arrive before they open at 11.30am. So far, this ensured that we were the first batch to get inside. Queue time was about 15-20 mins, While waiting, we scanned the QR code to pre-order and once we we were ushered to our table, we scanned the table QR code to send through the pre-ordered dishes. Going during lunch time, however, has a downside: carpark spot. It's competitive at SS2 during this time. Hence, I'm grateful that so far it didn't take long for us to get a spot. In fact, the latest one was the fastest: a spot almost right after we turn intoed the road. Prices had been the same during all our 3 visits. Some might think that portion is
