Crusader Kings 2: Ironman #3

Few weeks ago, Ban started playing Stellaris and was enthusiastic about it, and that got me itching to play the only grand strategy game I played before: Crusader Kings 2. I vaguely recalled telling Ban that it would be immensely difficult to beat the previous campaign's achievement . I floated the idea of doing something different, like trying out seniority succession but the consensus out that this is a terribly succession law. Ban, probably half-jokingly, suggested primogeniture. It's a pain to to enact that law because you have to progressively upgrade crown authority to high first, which is a slow process. Moreover, I find that tanistry is more stable because of the boost to vassal's opinon and dynasty opinion, which then encourages me to give out titles to dynasty members and that increases my dynasty's prestige too. On the other hand, I wanted to re-enact my unfinished Polish gameplay , which was on primogeniture succession law. I then faced with a choice of eith...

Paladins: Some of semi-recent best

Image
Few weeks ago, I had a few really good matches with Dredge and Barik. I wanted to produce similar quality matches with my Seris before putting up the videos here but there were no matches that I felt was good enough. I took time off to start another campaign in Crusader Kings II. I'm surprised how well that has been turnign out because I thought nothing could beat my previous campaign . Meanwhile, recently Paladins had a huge update and patch. Among them was the disappearance of Barik's Architectonics talent 😭 and replacement of it with a new talent Forgefire. So I thought I better show these videos before they became even more obsolete:

Brain vs me

Woke up to pee. Sun was already up. Went back to bed after peeing. Brain : Oooh today is vaccination day Me: Shut up and go back to sleep. Or at least rest. Brain : What shall we get for lunch later? Me : Omg stop fighting me. 😬

#CucukMyAZ 2nd dose

AZ was opened for registration two more times, both were glitched. System worse than Air Asia's and yet its budget was covered by a RM 70m allocation. Thereafter, it was put back into the main immunisation programme bcause, evidently, there was huge demand for it. As I stated in a previous blog post ,  " Malaysia government seprated out Astrazeneca (AZ) from the main national immunisation programme as they alleged that people were hesistant about taking that vaccine. "Alleged" i.e. didn't back it up with any statistic/survey/study etc. " Incompetency in this government is just a stone-throw away. Then they shortened the gap between 1st and 2nd dose from 12 weeks to 9 weeks, without any explanation whatsoever. I was apprehensive about this because studies showed that best immunise response was achieved by having a gap of between 12 weeks and 10 months. However, I didn't cancel the appointment (and thereby place myself at the back of the queue) because sub...

And it stops!

So 12 weeks after the last appointment , I was back at SJMC to once again get full blood count test done and then to consult Dr Teh, the hematologist. I prayed and hoped that my WBC count stopped dropping. The readings until that day was as follows: 3.3, 3.2, 3.2, 3.4, 2.8, 2.9, 2.6, 2.4. To my pleasant surprise, not only it stopped dropping, it increased to 3.1! Yay! Although it's still lower than the minimum reading of 4, the hematologist was comfortable to see me again only in 6 months time and that there was definitely no need to examine my bone marrow. Once again, I forgot to ask him about that procedure. Once again, he advised me to continue abstaining from taking multi-vitamin supplement on regular basis: it is ok to have them temporarily when I'm sick.

Ancestors

I'm sure many by now are familiar with Uncle Roger and his egg fried rice :) He reveiwed and commented on this dish made by others, as a lay person (Nigel Ng, a stand up comedian, acts as Uncle Roger). Finally, possibily due to request from many, he cooked this dish too: At 7:25 mark, he was telling viewers to use 'feelings' to know how much soy sauce to use. "We put soy sauce in until our ancestors tell us it's enough." Meanwhile, Ban had twice tried cooking prawn tempura but somehow the flour mix consistency wasn't right, despite following the measurements on the packages (tried two different brand). My sister coincidentally had a packet of tempura flour lying around for sometime already and so upon hearing Daniel's problem, she tried to make the dish. The dish looked ok, much better than Ban's but nowhere like those typical ones served in Japanese restaurants. She didn't read the package's instruction and used 'feelings' to make ...

Crusader Kings 2: Connacht's Glorious Victory

Image
I started this campaign as merely a Petty King of Connacht (i.e. duke). I ended as Emperor of Alba and King of Eire (Ireland) and pseudo emperor of 6 other empires (didn't create the titles due to political reasons), with many kings as vassals. This campaign gave me the highest score, largest realm and largest army in game (compared to AIs) as well as compared to previous campaigns, despite being in ironman mode. So proud of myself :) Some statistics: (1) Score of 241,293 - personal best, be it ironman or not, and far ahead of the AI's best scorer, Mali. Emperor Siuthrun 'the Great' contributed the most score i.e. 56,321. He also ruled the longest i.e. 50 years. (2) Army size of over 302k, well ahead of Byzantine's 109k. Realm size of 2,780, also beating Byzantine's second placed of 904. (3) The final ruler was the Emperor of Alba was the King of Ireland Titular King of Swabia, Frisia and Franconia had 2 duchies had 8 counties had 1 barony was the Emperor of Wen...

Auto?

Me: Why did you close the window? Ban: I don't know. I just closed it. 😑

Friendship from living with peers

The miracle of living with one's peers is that the clients come to udnerstand therse things about themselves and each other. It is touching to see how tolerant they are of whatever deficits they can see as real and unchangeable; they accept an apology over and over again. In this capcaity they truly achieve friendship in the best sense of the word. - "Adults on the Autism Spectrum: Leave the Nest, Achieving Supported Independence" by Nancy Perry
