Atlas Reactor Season Finale

Image
Atlas Reactor shut down on 28th June 2019, 3pm Kuala Lumpur time. I don't know the reaasons behind it but most could guess that it wasn't attracting enough funds. It was already dying more than 6 months ago when they stopped providing new stories, freelancers and map. Its game mechanic was unique and required lots of thinking (mostly on anticipation), unlike some other button-smashing games. I loved it for that but more importantly for its community, who was largely a friendly lot (I did have many players on my blocked list though haha) and the friends I made. I was amazed to learn that it helped some friends through tough times of their lives (depression, eating disorder, self-harming, ptsd, abusive relationship). Because I was going to visit the dentist and GP the next day, I had planned my last hours of play, and saying goodbyes, on 27th June. Here's the last planned game: Freelancers level, master skins, favourite skins, favourite mod sets (also recorded on 27...

Symptom management, hearing aid chosen

They didn't have the X-ray with my dad's file, despite it being hand delivered by Ban on the very day it was produced. 😠 Fortunately, the CT scan (with contrast) results was there, despite it delivered all the way from Seberang Jaya Hospital a couple of weeks after it was done @@ Compared to previous scan , the lumps on his abdomen (and 1 within the abdominal muscle) had grown a little larger, and tumour is back on his left femur (so persistent!). The doctor wasn't really pushing for either chemo or just symptom management (since he's ok now with the pain management for now), and so my dad (predictably) chose the latter. My mum finally, after a few postponements due to severe headache/dizziness/migraine, got to try out 3 hearing aids (all costing RM 3500). After some adjustments and tests, she chose the Enya brand.

Atlas Reactor: Finn 3 gameplays

Here are some gameplays based on the builds I blogged about recently :

Atlas Reactor: Dr Finn 3

I've taken a liking to a particular new-ish mod and so there are now 3 mod sets I used: "Shield persists" set (1) Water Spout - unequipped (2) Refreshing Spray - Self Fish (2 loadout points) (3) Electrifying Eels - That's a Moray (3 loadout points) (4) Bubble Trouble - Double Bubble (2 loadout point) (5) Maelstrom - Leech Infestation (3 loadout points) The key feature of this set is "Double Bubble", which is the new-ish mod. This is the default set. Vs Invisible (1) Water Spout - Catch of the Day (1 loadout point) (2) Refreshing Spray - Self Fish (2 loadout points) (3) Electrifying Eels - Spout of Sight (2 loadout points) (4) Bubble Trouble - Double Bubble (2 loadout point) (5) Maelstrom - Leech Infestation (3 loadout points) I only use this set if there are both Kaigin and PuP in the enemy's team. The key mod is "Spout of Sight". Unstoppable This is exactly the same as the previous default set ...

Minion Masters: Stormbringer 'Guild' Jun19

Image
One of my favourite decks wasn't doing well, doing to introduction of new cards and changing meta. I tried changing it a few times and was a little despondent that it wasn't working. The current build is working right up to Diamond 4 (last I played): (1) Illusory Cleaver: cheap to capture bridge and can kill minion(s) with less than 30hp (2) Scrat Pack: cheap to capture bridges (3) Screaming Scrat: cheap to capture bridge, great at taunting enemies to buy time (for your minions to kill them, for you to get enough mana to summon appropriate minion(s) to kill them, etc) (4) Xiao Long (5) Divine Warrior: good defensive tank (6) Fire Imp: great when behind tanks. Melt enemy's ground minions quickly (7) Fireball: mainly to get rid of Stun Lancers, Ghost, Priestess and Styxi (8) Blastmancer: great at getting rid of small minions (9) Scrat Tank: tank with high health. Great vs range (10) Crossbow Guild: key feature of this deck Let's try to use the checklist pr...

Atlas Reactor: Garrison 4 gameplays

I recently had a few good close games with the build blogged earlier :

Migraine and Cardiologist

After the psychiatrist appointment , mum underwent brain CT scan and blood test (include hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism) as ordered by neurologist . Both results didn't show anything abnormal. The neurologist said that this means there was nothing serious with the brain. MRI would be more accurate but it would be picking up less serious issues and so it wasn't worth doing it because mum had titanium cage implanted on her lower back decades ago. After much discussion and Q&A, the neurologist prescribed flunarizine to combat (and prevent) migraine. Migraine can cause dizziness too; and wrote a referral letter for us to get an appointment with cardiologist to check for heartbeat irregularity. Turns out that the neurologist also ordered echocardiogram. To our shock, the appointments given by the cardiology department are: 13 May 20 for echo 17 Aug 20 for holter 😲 Meanwhile, psychiatrist maintained their medication i.e. asenapine 5mg day, sertraline 100m...

Bone and diagnostic

The next appointment after that with PCU specialist  was with orthopaedic oncologist. The X-ray showed that there was no lesion progression. Unfortunately, due to difference in exposure of the X-rays (i.e. compared to previous  X-ray ), nothing more could be inferred. Meh. At the very least, though, the drurg, pamidronate, was able to counter evenly the eroding effect of the cancer on the bone. Hence, the doctor recommended resumption of the infusion. The 3rd infusion of pamidronate went quite well, possibly because my dad brought along his tablet (given by my b-i-l) preloaded with drama series by my sister. Unlike previous times, this time he was asked to go straight to ward for the 4th infusion (a month later) i.e. no need to consult the orthopaedic oncologist. I'm wondering whether this is "standard" or a favour granted by the  helpful Dr Y . Meanwhile, the swelling on dad's legs subsided in terms of size and area (no longer affects knees). He pooed once every...
