Laziest

Possibly the laziest person I know to-date: (1) Previously,  when Ban and I would call him for lunch, we usually ended waiting for him for 10-15mins despite him stating that he was coming down now (he lived in the next block). Fed up, Ban told him to call us once he was truly ready but he refused and instead assured us he would really be down at the lobby. Voila, that worked. Why? He was too lazy to made that call. Yup. (2) He sometimes take oat, the quick-to-cook version (I used instant one), and now contemplating to eat it raw because...yup, too lazy to spend a few minutes to cook....using microwave oven. (3) Overweight, sleep apnea, high cholesterol. Exercise? See doctor re high cholesterol? Take cholesterol medicine. Nope. Too lazy. (4) He wanted to see doctor but usually clinic's close past 12pm on a Saturday. As we were driving to the lunch venue, I noticed that the clinic was open and offered to drop him close to the clinic for him to merely ask the doctor the closin...

Finally a possible cause?

After the 13th blood test ordered by the psychiatric clinic, mum had follow-up appointment at Penaga public clinic. This was mainly for her hypertension and high cholesterol but once a year, they conduct full blood test and this time, a new red flag came up: low blood sugar. Hers was 2 whereas the range is about 4.4 - 6.8 with fasting and 4.4 - 8.8 without fasting. Low blood sugar can also explain the constant dizziness she's having. When asked what can we do about it, the doctor asked her to eat, not to diet, take glucose drink and agreed with suggested honey drink, milk and fruits. He also advised us to monitor the blood sugar by going for test at pharmacy or buy the machine. If result shows low blood sugar, then eat/drink the aforementioned. The pharmacist advised us to take first reading before breakfast. If the result is low, then eat/drink the necessary and retest a few hours later. If result is ok, then just repeat it the next day. As for her appointment with physioth...

Minion Masters: Stormbringer 'Guild' v3

Image
Divine Warrior has been nerfed. Ok, ok, officialy she's been tweaked i.e. mana cost reduced from 5 to 4 but immunity's duration reduced from 8s to 5s. That's a nerf to me and it's proven by the fact that many decks were broken. Hence, I had to change them after testing them out. The previous Stormbringer 'Guild' build had 2 copies of Divine Warrior. The current build is as follows: (1) Illusory Cleaver: cheap to capture bridge and can kill minion(s) with less than 30hp (2) Screaming Scrat: cheap to capture bridge, great at taunting enemies to buy time (for your minions to kill them, for you to get enough mana to summon appropriate minion(s) to kill them, etc) (3) Wall: cheap great defense (4) Daggerfall (5) Plasma Marines (6) Xiao Long (7) Wheel of Doom: great for killing medium minions, especially Wolf Among Sheep before the transformation (werewolves are the troublesome minions to deal with at the moment) (8) Whirly Scrat (9) Cleaver (10) Crossbo...

2nd line Cycle 10, Plastic, SOPD

Due to logistic issue, Cycle 10 was postponed by a week. Days before that, the numbness  was still there. The good news was that dad, finally, could sleep much better at night, instead of waking up every 2 hours. I half-suspected that my suggestion helped: I  asked him to shift the morning intake of Oxycontin from 4.30am to the time he would want to be awake to have breakfast i.e. 6.30am. This lessened his anxiety ("Oh, is it time yet? It's only 3.30am? I'll just rest at the dining table until 4.30am) and stress. The bad news was that he had then needed to take Oxynorm more often i.e. from 1-2 tab to 4-5 tabs a day because of worsening pain in his leg that sometimes was sharp. Couple days before start of the cycle, we had the first consultation with the plastic surgeon . In the end, they declined to operate. Their opinion was as follows: " Lesion is likely metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma and excision will need mesh/flap to repair. As patient is ...

Macao Imperial Tea

Yet another competitor to Chatime. As usual, for my first try, I had the pearl milk tea. It was nice and maybe even one of the nicest but I'm not sure the RM 10 price tag was justified though. Maybe some of the cost goes towards the significantly sturdier plastic cup. FYI it is reusable but I didn't because...I don't need it? Do you know what's that red thing is? It is actually a cover a hole for you to drink from there, rather than with the straw. There is even a nook for you to place the red cover while drinking. Interesting, right? The next time I had their cake milk tea. It was supposed to taste like cake but honestly, it tasted almost like normal milk tea with a hint of cheese. Not worth it at RM 13.

Piggy Year 2019

Happy Chinese New Year! Wishing all of you, especially my family and friends, good health and good life. Life is short and so spend time with people who matters. Ignore people who don't "spark joy" as they don't matter anyway, right? Finally, thank you to everyone who have been kind and helpful to my family through this trying times. Hope this year will be much better for all of you :)

Raku Ichi @Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth

Ramen used to be my favourite Japanese noodle but in recent years, udon has equaled or maybe even overtaken it (never like soba though). Some reasons are: Oily broth (or I'm just getting more intolerant haha) On the other hand, udon's soup is not oily Some ramen are lumpy More udon with nice texture Note that I had these noodle in Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. The above comment is probably highly biased by my experience in Malaysia ever since I've moved back here nearly 9 years ago, from Singapore. Recently, I had the best ramen of my life at Raku Ichi: Oooops, by the time I remembered to take photo, I had already finished it, including its broth for the first time ever for any ramen. There were 5 different ramen on their menu and its information was all written in Chinese @@ (unlike other food). So I had to ask, for both Ban's and my benefit, for brief description of the difference. I chose Black Sesame Ramen and chose the upgraded vers...
