Laziest

Possibly the laziest person I know to-date:

(1) Previously,  when Ban and I would call him for lunch, we usually ended waiting for him for 10-15mins despite him stating that he was coming down now (he lived in the next block). Fed up, Ban told him to call us once he was truly ready but he refused and instead assured us he would really be down at the lobby. Voila, that worked. Why? He was too lazy to made that call. Yup.

(2) He sometimes take oat, the quick-to-cook version (I used instant one), and now contemplating to eat it raw because...yup, too lazy to spend a few minutes to cook....using microwave oven.

(3) Overweight, sleep apnea, high cholesterol. Exercise? See doctor re high cholesterol? Take cholesterol medicine. Nope. Too lazy.

(4) He wanted to see doctor but usually clinic's close past 12pm on a Saturday. As we were driving to the lunch venue, I noticed that the clinic was open and offered to drop him close to the clinic for him to merely ask the doctor the closing time of the clinic that day. Nope, too lazy to do that.

(5) Invited to join a D&D group. Dungeon Master ('DM') asked us to read 3 pages of information about the three countries in the setting we would be playing in and to prepare our characters' background which include answers to some questions the DM posed. Also, as per custom, we should also create our characters at the agreed level and equip them with the given money.

All the above to be done in time for our first session in 12 days time. During this period, Ban and I regularly talked about our characters, right up to about 5 hours before we were about to drive off to the gaming venue. 15 minutes before departure, this person just started creating his character, hadn't come up with the answers to the DM's questions on background, and hadn't read the 3 pages of information. None.

Sadly, his laziness is already destroying his health, his social life and his cognitive function. If he doesn't change for the better, it will eventually be the death of him. Haiz.

Don't worry, probably too lazy to die also. But perhaps these are signs of underlying mental health problems.

William, MrBunnyBan,
Even if there are, they appear to be "selective" because when he's enthusiastic about something, especially food, manga, anime and computer games, he actually researched them and tell us all about it.
Yet, when I asked him a favour to merely go down to the cafe (less than 5 mins walk) in his condo to buy fruits, he declined. Another instance was when he declined to fetch Ban from a nearby LRT station (a mere 10 mins drive away). Like that how to make friends?
Ini hendak seribu daya, tak hendak seribu helah. His philosophy is "what excuses can I come up with to avoid doing things", rather than "what reasons can I come up with to do things".

Can he be depressed? Can gross laziness kill someone? -- most likely because severe inactivity will lead to all sorts of health problems sooner or later. On the other hand, lazy people also do not stress. Hence, they may actually outlive you. Stress is the root cause of a lot of ill health. I have a friend whose husband is just as lazy. He spends most of his day watching car racing, and smoking. Yet, he has less health issues than my friend does. SR

SR,
Sure, he may outlive us (which is highly doubtful) but will it be a fulfilling life?
