Fraud again

Yes, it happened again a month later! This time, the transaction that alerted Citibank to put it on hold, pending my confirmation was by Google in THB @@ Perusing the unbilled transactions revealed unauthorised transactions by MP4CONTENTSHOP.COM (USD), twinklefun.net (USD) and my-slv.cc (EUR). Grrr. So once again, the card was cancelled and new one was sent to me, which I delayed receiving it because I was quarantined at home for Covid-19. Coincidentally, my brother-in-law also recently had fraudulent transactions on his Citibank credit card. Hmmm...

Covid-19

Image
It all started with Ban complaining about blocked nose and phelgm. He had this before and normally it just naturally goes away or at most he takes antihistamine once. However, this time, high fever came later! Since it persisted despite taking 1000mg paracetamol twice, I urged him to see doctor. Normally at this particular clinic, they would inisist on performing RTK (rapid antigen test kit) test on patient who exhibits Covid-19 symptoms even if the patient has already self-tested. Hence, I suggested to Ban not to do it at home. To my surprise, the clinic changed its protocol: they didn't insist or even suggest. Ban was prescribed medicines to treat his symptoms and was advised to do a self-test for Covid-19. He tested it once home and it was positive. This was on Saturday. I tested mine immediately thereafter and it was negative. I felt fine too. So quickly got him isolated in the master room (that has attached bathroom). However, at night, my throat felt scratchy an...

Crusader Kings II: Deheubarth, Brythoniaid, Ergyng, weird 1st Crusade

Image
Started a new campaign, non-Ironman mode, to eventually try to be a Christian heretic. Something different and so I decided not to play Ironman mode. Couldn't imagine beating my personal record though. Spoiler: didn't go the heretical route 😁but I definitely did something different here. To be elaborated in a post much later. As another first, I also started as Petty King of Deheubarth, duchy within the Kingdom of Wales. Soon, within the lifetime of my first ruler (a designed character, Mernix Zee Mau), I created Kingdom of Brythoniaid, the Welsh name for Wales. Proceeded to conquer the rest of the kingdom except for the two counties of Duchy of Cornwall that were under English's control. My vasal, Duke of Gwynedd, must had fabricated claim on the English county Hereford (Ergyng in Welsh). Less than a year to the first Crusade, he declared war on England for it. Brave lad. However, I checked that my army strength was almost as much as that of the English king. So I joined...

Someday, Somewhere

Image
One day I realised this song's lyric is so meaningful for gay people living in countries where society is still not accepting of them. Someday Somewhere We'll find a new way of living We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere There's a place for us Somewhere a place for us Peace and quiet and open air Wait for us somewhere There's a time for us Someday, there'll be a time for us Time together with time to spare Time to learn, time to care Someday Somewhere We'll find a new way of living We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere, somewhere There's a place for us A time and a place for us Hold my hand and we're half way there Hold my hand and I'll take you there Somehow Someday Somewhere

Public holiday, gym

While I was doing physio exercises and Ban came to kaypoh... Me: Honey, tomorrow is public holilday. Ban: Ok. Me: Tomorrow is also Monday. Ban: Ok. Me: Do you know what that means? Ban: No. Me: *paused exercise while giggling* Ban: *laughed* Me: What do you usually do on Monday, Wednesday and Friday? Ban: Oh! I would have to go to gym during the day (gym close early at night on public holiday) This kind of conversation happens regularly. It would be great if all of them are in this kind of mood.  😅

3rd laptop

My first laptop, Dell Inspiron 15, lasted for more than 6 years. The second laptop, Alienware 14 (highest spec at that time) was already more than 8 years old: Attempt #1 to get new laptop (2013) Attempt #2 to get new laptop (2013) Alienware 14 (2013) 1st problem: keyboard (2014) Hard disk (2014) Layman taught expert (2014) Headache (2015) Yearly? (2016) Repeated incompetence (2016) GPU (2017) Charging issue (2017)   Repair caused problems (2017) Lousy sales team (2017)   Pre-empt (2019) Motherboard (2020)   Power adapter (2020) Keyboard, bluetooth, mouse (2021) 3rd keyboard (2021)   There was problem(s) every year except for 2018. Furthermore, these were the ones I bothered to blog about. That power adapter I got from Shopee in 2020 (couldn't get one from Dell because they no longer sells that): it worked for quite a while before it burst with sparks! In the end, I used Ban's old Alienware 15 power adapater. Lugging around a separate keyboard and microphone togethe...

WBC July 2022

As per instruction from the haematologist,  I've been testing my WBC every six months. This pattern was interrupted in April when Pantai Hospital Ampang tested my blood , pre-surgery but I still went ahead to test it recently as planned: 3.3, 3.2, 3.2, 3.4, 2.8, 2.9, 2.6, 2.4, 3.1, 3.1, 4.0*, 3.0 I guess the measurement 4.0 at the hospital is an anomaly? Ignoring that means that my WBC is pretty much the same. Will repeat this in another 6 months.

First time reduced to 1 daily

Usually I follow the therapist's recommendation of doing the exercises twice daily but this set of exercises caused quite long last pain (just below the knee cap and at the top of the inner tibia), so much so that I limped when walking. It took about a day to recover and hence I could only exercise once a day. At the next appointment, the therapist took out an exercise, added a new one and adjusted another. The amended set is as follows: 1. Stretches 2. Restrain knees with elastic band. Micro bend knees. Move knees outwardly as wide as possible. Hold for 10 counts, revert. 10x3 3. Lie down. Both legs bent 90 degree with heel on chair. Lift hip and lower back. Hold for 5 counts. 10x3 4. Same as (3) but right heel on mat and left ankle on right thigh and for 5 counts. 5. Stand only on right leg. Raise front part of foot and lower it down, slowly and smoothly. On the 10th rep hold for 10 counts. 10x3 6. Sit on mat. Right leg folded in front. Left leg bent 90 degree with foot planted ...

Oxymoronic

Recently, in a span of about 3 weeks, the Malaysian government decided to entertained the ordinary folks with the theme "Let's give oxymoronic statements! 1. Decision to cap the number of players in a industry is to reduce monopoly. 2. Proposed fine (that's nearly doubled the annual salary of a fresh graduate) is not meant to punish but to evoke love. 3. Withdraw subsidies to reduce cost of living. 4. Moving from plan A to B and back to A isn't a U-turn.

Another new set

Yes, seems like new set of physio exercise each week i.e. after two sessions. Replacing the previous set ,  1. Stretches 2. Lie down. Right leg bent 90 degree with heel on chair. Left ankle on right thigh. Lift hip and lower back. Hold for 5 counts. 10x3 3. Same as (2) but heel on mat and for 10 counts. 4. Stand only on right leg. Raise heel and lower it down, slowly and smoothly. On 10th rep hold for 10 counts. 10x3 5. Do (4) but raise front part of foot. 6. Sit on mat. Right leg folded in front. Left leg bent 90 degree with foot planted on mat. Lift body up with strength from right leg. 10x3 7. Kneel and sit on feet. Lift body up halfway, hold for 5 counts. 10x3 8. Stretches The most difficult is no. (7). I had to reduce the number of reps but increase the number of sets so that the total number of reps remained at 30. At the next session, (2) was changed to a less difficult pose: left heel is also on the chair in line with the right heel. This was because I original pose caused ...
