Move to Oasis

It's been sometime since I last blogged about my mum's eye. So, 5 months after the last appointment in Aug 23, her right eye was ok but doctor at Bukit Mertajam Hospital still gave follow-up appointment in 6 months time. I had expected the appointments to end. I don't like going to that hospital because the roads within its compound are narrow and there's almost always no carpark space available. Furthermore, I'm not familiar with Bukit Mertajam at all and that adds to the stress of looking for parking elsewhere, where to have lunch etc.

Since my sister had favourable experience with the eye specialist at Oasis Eye Centre (for her daughter), I brought my mum there. It's nearer, the procedure was faster since there's fewer patients (private eye centre, after all) and there's parking space. Naturally, the specialist spent sometime gathering mum's health history, in particular her right eye. Mum also brought along whatever reports she had from iSurgeon.

The doctor concluded that mum's right eye was good but, to our surprise, mum's left eye had slight swelling due to small amount of fluid within it but fortunately not affecting nerves or vision. Eyes were a little dry too. So, eye-drop was prescribed (Artelac was chosen because it had been working for mum) and next appointment was in 2 months time to examine the left eye again.

On the next appointment, recently, it was status quo for both eyes: perfect right eye, slight but inconsequential swelling in the left. Next appointment was supposed to be in 4 months time but because I would be away then, we requested it to be shortened to 3 months.
