Fell Seal - Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 5)

(continue from Part 4 ) HIRED CHARACTERS: Darkness Mercenary/Reaver Counter: Counterattack Passives: Defense Expert, Life Font Reaver's an interesting formidable class. It can debuff, transfers debuffs, deal damage at range and area effect damage. Desperate Blow is unique: it does a set a of damage that cannot be reduced by DEF or RES. It synergises with Reckless Blow, which has quite a high damage multiplier too. Desperate Blow is more effective the higher the character's hitpoints. So Ban advised me to use maul (it gives additional hp) and a good class that can use it is Mercenary. This class also allows the character to use shield while wielding a maul (via Sturdy Grip passive) while its other passive, Health Expert, augments both the character's survivability as well as potency of Desperate Blow. Counterattack counter is perfect for this high attack tanky frontliner who likes to gets into enemy's face. Defense Expert improves survivability while Life ...

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 4)

(continue from Part 3 ) I was describing builds for each character systematically according to 3 groups: (1) Story characters i.e. those who were involved in developing the story, in the order of which they were introduced. There was a already mistake here: Reiner was supposed to appear after Anadine. (2) Characters that were given to me but don't have stories of their own. There are only two: Lana and Virgil, who appeared at the same time. (3) Lastly, characters whom I hired. Since I hired them at the same time, they're presented alphabetically. Only recently I realised I left out one story character: Bzaro. So, let's talk about him first before continuing the remainder of (3). Bzaro Pektite/Tangrel Counter: Scar Tissue Secondary passives: Deep Wounds, Sunder Except for the default 3 classes that are unlocked automatically, all other classes are unlocked after gathering 5 essence in each class. "Essences are gathered by defeating monsters with Bzaro i...

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - equipment (Part 1)

In this game, you're usually asked to deploy 6 characters most of the time. Since it's quite normal, and acceptable, to have injury(ies) sometimes, it's strongly advisable to have more have more than 6 characters in your party. Ideally, you should have at least an extra character for each "role". For example, I have three healers: Lana, Virgil and Yates . I deploy two of them in each combat and if one of them injured, I'll have the third one to replay them in the next combat. There's a possibility of both healers injured but so far, I can't recall having this issue. Even if I did, the easiest way to solve it is to simply turn a character, who has either mastered or unlocked most abilities in the appropriate class, into a healer temporarily e.g. Sorcerer/Alchemyst -> Mender/Alchemyst. The safest is, of course, to have an extra for each character i.e. 12 characters. The 6 characters that you deploy in combat will earn both experience points (...

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 3)

(continue from Part 2 ) Lana Mender/Sorcerer (alternate: Mender/Druid) Counter: Root Secondary passives: Eruptor, Economy (alternate: Double Cast, Economy) Mender is a great support class: it can heal, remove any debuff and resurrect. I recommend at least one character using this class. Since Mender has no offensive abilities at all, the Sorcerer class can complement it well especially with the chosen passives. However, the latter's class is bad if enemies have counter such as Pounce, Slow and Magic. In that case, I'll use Druid instead because of Total Shield and Dispel. Its offensive abilities should be used on enemies that don't have those counters. Economy and Mana Font (from Mender's class) make Double Cast much doable. The Root counter is great in putting distance between Lana and the attacker. Virgil Plague Doctor/Gadgeteer Counter: Renew Secondary passives: Smart Casting, Malice With what he can wear and use, Virgil can, theoretically, be just ...

RMCO trip

The start of Recovery Movement Control Order lifted the ban on interstate travel. Ban and I traveled to Butterworth, for me to do a few important things: (1) Bring mum to her Cardiology appointment for echocardiogram Although it was a 9am appointment, we left earlier to reach at 8.05am so that there would be parking space at the multi-storey carpark. From past experience, any later than 8.30am, there's usually no more sheltered space there and the space on the rooftop fills up after 8.45am. Temperature taken at lobby. QR code at clinic. From the time mum registered to the time we received the result (which was ok), it took a mere 65 - 70 mins. That's incredibly fast for a public hospital! We both thanked Ban for co-driving. He didn't need to come along but I couldn't sleep much the night before (probably due to new room) and so needed his help. He got a few hours more than I did. (2) Settle my parents' bank accounts Wanted to close both accounts and est...

Passage of time

" He knew the time he was supposed to meet the others for dinner, but he didn't know how to perceive or calculate the amount of time it would consume to stop in at each store on his route. When he arrived 40 minutes past the meeting time, he was confused, hurt, and angry to see that he had been left behind. When  the interaction of sequencing and time is analyzed this way, it becomes clear that ememory is affect by a deficit in sequencing ability, and vice versa. My clients have very poor memoeries for when something happened and poor judgment for the feeling of how much time has passed since a specific event occurred. The same is true for events coming up in the future. ... They don't feel the passage of time the way we normall do. ...... In this secnario, the client will be on medication that was prescribed by a different octor, perhaps some time ago. The current doctor will want to record in her records how long the client has been on medication. So she asks the cli...

Planning, Sequencing, Organising

" Nora and i were discussing her messy bedroom.  She said she would like it to be cleaner and neater. I asked her to picture her room and tell me what it would take to be the way she wanted it. She ticked off on her dingers, "I'd have to make the bed, and pick up all the clothes off the floor, and clear off the top of the desk, and vacuum, and throw away the newspapers and junk mail." I remarked that she knew what to do to clean the room, but she answered that she wouldn't know where to begin. So I asked her to tell me again the things that had to be done. Again she ticked them off on her fingers, in the same order. I said, 'So now you know what to do." Her list amounted ot a very competent analysis of the necessary steps to clean the room. But she looked at me with a completeley blank stare and said, again, that she had no idea how to clean the room. For Nora, a description of the room that she could picture in her mind bore no relation to knowing how t...

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 2)

(continue from Part 1 ) Yates Anatomist/Wizard Counter: Cripple Secondary passives: Blessed One, Smart Casting Anatomist is the best healer in game due to the passive Legendary Healer, which also then boost the amount of self-healing by Blessed One. Although Ban thinks Anatomist's Dark spells are sufficient in dealing damage and so he suggests Alchemyst as Yate's secondary class, I choose Wizard for the following reasons: Quite often, demonic creatures have Dark immunity and other creatures have immunity to other elements. So having Dark, Water, Fire, Earth and Thunder spells enable Yates to cast the most suitable spell, especially when the enemies are vulnerable to certain elements. Flexible casting :) Smart Casting is useful so that I don't need to worry much about the positioning of the enemies relative to my other characters when using Mass Healing and the area effect damage spells. As stated in previous post , there "are so many devastating Skill ba...

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark - character build (Part 1)

Here are the character builds for my current run (with the help of Ban): Kyrie Fellblade/Marked Counter: Slow Secondary passives: Execute, Life Font Fellblade itself is a good class because of the various conditions it can inflict and most importantly they can inflict Sleep. Iirc, the only other human class that can do this is Gadgeteer. Their passive Malice increases the chance of landing it by 10%. Fellblade pairs well with Marked because both use ATK and MND in their offensive abilities. Also, Fellblade's abilities are mostly short range whereas Marked has some long range abilities. Execute for more damage. Life Font is for suvivability. Ban opined that with two healers, there's no need for Life Font but I discover that it enables Kyrie to survive just enough for a healer to heal her up, after having received massive damage. Ban advocated for Marked/Fellblade for superior Speed (1.00 vs 0.92) and defense (heavy armor). I resisted this for a long time because I ...
